Trust Grade Registrar Urology

Kettering General hospital is a 600 bed DGH in North Northamptonshire. It provides elective and emergency care to a population of approx. 360,000 covering all major specialities and has Affiliated Teaching Hospital status with Leicester Medical School.

The successful applicant will join a team of 5 consultants, 5 middle grades, 1 FY2 and 3 FY1s and will be responsible for morning ward rounds, attending OPD, Flexible cystoscopy, theatre and diagnostic sessions and will take part in the on-call arrangements. The unit offers specialist treatment in stones, lap nephrectomy, andrology, as well as general urology including TURP, TURBT and diagnostics including urodynamics, TRUS, trans-perineal biopsy, intravesical Botox and flexible cystoscopy. The applicant will have a great opportunity to develop and access training along similar lines to an SpR and it is an excellent post for a trainee who wishes to deepen their experience, develop their CV or to apply for SpR training from.

The post is initially for 12 months and potentially extendable beyond that time.
