Northampton General Hospital

Love Nursing, Love Northampton

Welcome to Northampton General Hospital, together we aim to provide the best possible care for our patients.  We believe that everyone working here has two roles: delivering great care and improving care. We value every employee working in every team across the organisation, whether you’re on the frontline delivering acute services or supporting our clinical teams behind the scenes.

We are immensely proud that Northampton General Hospital is the first hospital in the UK  to achieve the internationally recognised ‘Pathway to Excellence’ accreditation, this means that we have created a positive practice environment  in which our staff feel that they can flourish and grow.  The accreditation programme is monitored by the American Nurses Credentialing Centre (ANCC) and  measures six practice standards which includes the principles of shared  decision making at all levels across our nursing profession as well as an emphasis on well being, quality, safety and professional development.

Sheran Oke, Director of Nursing and Midwifery says the Hospital:
“welcomes applications from individuals from all backgrounds, highlighting that we have a robust Talent Academy in place whereby individuals can pursue  career pathways from a band 2 HCA to a RN knowing that each individual  will  be joining an organisation who respect individual  contributions, support  professional development and nurture and optimal work environment for our staff.”

We also believe in supporting as well as rewarding.  This is why we at Northampton General Hospital are a founding member of the Cavell Trust, who look to support Nursing and Midwifery staff at difficult times, whether that be financially or through listening and helping nurses and midwives decompress in a safe environment.

I love working at NGH because I love the people that I work with, it’s like one big happy family.”
